When you register your company, certain information will be publicly available.

For people with significant control, it will also state the nature of control, e.g. percentage of shares or voting rights.

All of the above information can be found by searching for a company name or number using the Companies House Beta search service.

This additional information is available through some paid-for services which require a login:

  • Company phone number and website address
  • Names of shareholders and details of the shares they hold

When you appoint a new director, Companies House will ask for their residential address. However, they will never make this publicly available.

The delivery address you give us when you register your company with us is the one we will use to send you your incorporation documents (certificates, memorandum and articles, etc). If this address is different to the registered office or service address of any of the company officers, it will not appear on the public record. For more information about what we do to keep your personal data safe, please see our terms and conditions. Of course, any information you put on your company or personal website will be available to anyone.

Many small companies operate from the residential address of one of the directors. If you would like to keep this address off the public record, you can use our registered office service.
